2011 Songs of the Year

As the year closes, Chris and I have decided to compile multiple lists to compare and contrast the best and worst of the year.  Our first list, The Hottest Women (during the time we were growing up i.e. middle school) list, was received with mixed reviews.  So we thought that it would be fun to go against each other in a head to head battle over the top songs of 2011.  We are each putting up our own list and would like you to browse through and select the list you think is best.  You can also vote for which list you like in the comment box by writing either “cwsquires” or “stemack” below.  For those who do not know our taste tends to lean towards the hip-hop side when it comes to music.  However, I think our list will show our ever growing maturity and the fact that we hang out with a lot of white people.  Without further ado, here they are.  Tell us what you think.

Tipping

My brother sent me a text messaged and asked should you tip at Sonic?  And his question prompted me to ponder on not only tipping at Sonic but tipping period.  I feel that I have a good amount of friends who are and have waited or bartended; and their complaints are never with their job being boring, or too many hours; but they are seemingly always about the patrons who come into their establishments and the awkward yet hope filled moment of receiving a good tip.  Tipping has become somewhat of a lost art, like love or the fifteen foot jump shot.  Thus, I thought it would be funny and interesting to write some guidelines on how I try to be nice, but not overly lavish or snobby when I tip

1.       If you buy food from a Sonic, or place where people bring you food on rollerblades, or skateboards, or jet packs.  A one to two dollar tip is definitely needed.  It’s like saying thanks for letting me watch you in hopes that you would fall and spill my food.

2.       If you use a coupon and receive a significant amount of money off of the original bill, you should tip at the original amount.  I.E. your bill is $50, you get the meal half off thus you pay $25.  Your tip should be 7.50 not 3.75.

3.       If you are with a group of people drinking at any time and at some point an awkward exchange (usually inappropriate and sexual) is made between the group and the server, an extra 1-2 dollars per person is necessary to offset any awkward damages.

4.       If you pull up in luxury vehicle, valet park that vehicle, and buy an expensive bottle of wine. Do not tip 15%, your tip percentage automatically goes up to 15%

5.       If you are a celebrity and you don’t tip 30-50% depending on your bill, I hope you get Sandusked in jail while you are in prison for tax evasion, o hey Wesley Snipes.

6.       And lastly to all of us regular people tip your servers and bartenders well because karma can be a bitch.

The Top 20 Hottest Women of All Time (a cwsquires and stemack collaboration)

Men’s Health Magazine recently published their list of the 100 Hottest Girls of All Time.  Because of this, Chris and I were prompted to make our own list of the hottest girls of all time by our standards.  Our standards are a little bit different than that of Men’s Health. The first difference is that are list is 20 women rather than 100. We do not have the time nor the man power to rank 100 girls.   Secondly, it must be noted that Chris and I were respectively born in 1988 and 1987; which means we did not start liking girls until about 1994 or 1995.  Thus this list is influenced heavily by the 1990’s definition of hot, so girls like Patty Mayonaise and Marrisa Joan Hart are likely to be one and two.  But all joking aside, here is our list. I hope some of your own favorites make the cut.  If none of yours do, feel free to let us know who YOU think we might have missed.

Are Sneakers Okay With Dress Pants?

As the traditional values and codes of our traditional dress disappear.  A question arises: Is it okay to wear sneakers with dress pants?  The conventionalist and old school theory is a resounding, NO.  But, to the trendy, nightlife young adults crossing comfortable with classy; this new style paves a way to show sophistication and style.  So I thought I would bring this question to the forefront.  The survey below provides you with a simple quesiton as to whether or not sneakers or agreeable with dress pants.  Please take a second to fill out it and tell us what you think. We will post the results later in the week.  Comments are welcome.
